Wire & Cable India: Please give a brief overview of your company.
Amit Goti: Zenium Cables Limited is a cable manufacturing company situated in Mumbai, with a manufacturing unit in Gujarat. My father started this company in 1992 with co-axial cables, and in 2008 we entered into the electrical and electronic equipment industry. In 2012, I took over the company after my father and since then the company has been undergoing a transition. We now have all young staff, new and emerging engineers with new mindsets. We consider this a very important revolution in our company and call our company a 31 years “young” company. Today, Zenium Cables Limited is a reputed indigenous cable manufacturing company in India, catering to diverse customer needs across industries. With our fully operational and well-equipped manufacturing facility and ultramodern laboratory setup, we not only offer our customers the desired solutions, but also ensure they are of topmost quality and as per the required specifications. We are also approved with major central utilities like Power Grid Corporation of India, NTPC and BHEL.

WCI: Please shed some light on your product portfolio and major clientele.
AG: We majorly manufacture products in the LT range, which has a huge market. Our product portfolio includes house wires, flexible cables, 3 core and 4 core submersible flat cables, single core and multi core armored and unarmoured power cables, multicore armored and unarmoured control cables, instrumentation cables, braided cables, co-axial cables, CCTV camera cables, specialty cables and many more. We also manufacture Uninyvin cables, which were initially developed for aircrafts but have found utilization in various other applications in India as well.
Our major market is domestic and we have been supplying our products to prestigious clients like BHEL, NTPC, PGCIL, Larsen & Toubro, Sterling & Wilson, Siemens, Tata projects, IOCL, GAIL, HPCL, ONGC, MRPL and OPAL. We also supply cables to the major metros in Maharashtra and Delhi and we are also doing well in the oil & gas industry, approved by Engineers India Limited.
WCI: What according to you is the USP of your company, which sets it apart from competitors?
AG: Our company’s strength lies in providing end to end solutions. Though we are a manufacturing company, we do not view it as the sale of a product but of solutions. For example, while working with an EPC contract company, we take care of the entire approval stage, along with all the on-site and off-site inspection. Post the inspection, the cable is charged and after a year or two we take the performance test and certification of the charged cable. Therefore, we are very thorough with our work and one such project takes a period of around 3 years.
“We now have all young staff, new and emerging engineers with new mindsets. We consider this a very important revolution in our company and call our company a 31 years “young” company.”
WCI: Is there any CSR policy in place at your company?
AG: We have a school near our manufacturing unit in Gujarat, where we do a few CSR activities. Moreover, as we are based in a rural area where many adivasis reside, we encourage adivasi women towards employment and skill development. We also provide financial and medical aid to help cancer patients, specifically for women who do not have family members.

WCI: Could you please share the recent developments or future plans?
AG: We are currently in the process of developing Kynar insulated cables, which are utilized in cathodic protection of the oil and gas industry, and are manufactured by very few companies in India. We plan to gradually move into the higher voltage range cables. However, before that we are aiming to move into the export market as there has been good demand in European and American markets.
