Yazaki India Private Limited — a subsidiary of Yazaki Corporation Japan, has proposed to set up a wire harnessing manufacturing plant in the state of Manipur.

As reported in a leading daily — during a video conference with Mr. Thongam Biswajit, Textiles, Commerce & Industries Minister, Yazaki India Private Limited’s Managing Director, Mr. Prashanth Nayak has proposed to set up a full-fledged wire harnessing manufacturing unit in Manipur.

Mr. Nayak further asserted the company ensures zero pollution and zero hazards and with a new project, Yazaki would generate employment opportunities for the youths of the State with a special focus on women. The project will not only enhance trade with Southeast Asian countries but also help in improving State’s economy.
Mr. Biswajit welcomed the proposal and said that he would place the proposal before the Cabinet. He also highlighted the industrial and investment policy of Manipur during the conference. Reiterating the need to place the proposal before the State Cabinet, Biswajit also assured all possible cooperation and support from the Government in the endeavor.

Yazaki India has been taking up a joint venture with Tata group of companies in India since 1997. The company has 11 manufacturing plants in eight states namely Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand and Delhi, and provides jobs to more than 12,000 people in these states.
