Sikora offering perfect technology for excellent measuring, control and test devices

X RAY 6120 PRO CopySikora AG, manufacturer and worldwide supplier of measuring and control technology for the wire and cable industry, will display innovative technology at the Wire & Cable India in Mumbai.

Sikora is showcasing sophisticated equipment for optical fiber measurement in the drawing tower. The FIBER LASER 6003 measures the diameter of bare and coated optical fibers with an accuracy of ± 0.05 micrometers. At the same time the devices provide information on the fiber position, spinning, tension and vibration frequency. Sikora will also introduce a new gauge head with airline detection, the FIBER LASER 6003 AIRLINE. This device reliably detects in addition the smallest airlines from 0.5 micrometers. Besides diameter measurement the FIBER LUMP 6003 offers the most reliable detection of the smallest lumps and neck-downs down to a size of 5 micrometers.

Furthermore, Sikora presents the X-RAY 6000 PRO for the measurement of up to 3 insulation layers as well as the new X-RAY 6000 BASIC, which is used for quality control of single layer products. The X-ray measuring systems both assure a continuous quality control to fulfill the required specifications regarding wall thickness, eccentricity, diameter and ovality.

Another X-ray measuring device that is certain to generate a great deal of interest is the X-RAY 8000 NXT for the measurement of eccentricity, wall thickness, diameter and ovality of MV-, HV- and EHV cables. In combination with the display and control unit of the X-RAY 8000 NXT the extrusion tools are optimally centered and the production line automatically controlled.

In Mumbai Sikora shows the innovative diameter gauges of the LASER Series 6000 including a number of technological highlights, one being a measuring rate of 2.5 kHz for highest accuracy. The high measuring rate allows at the same time for a reliable detection of lumps and neckdowns. In addition, the gauge heads are equipped with an integrated LCD display with control panel, which enables the operator to read the diameter value directly from the device and to control the line.

With the TIGER LASER 6010 XY SIKORA presents an additional innovative diameter measuring system, with special focus on the combination of diameter measurement with lump inspection. Characteristic for this gauge head is the extremely precise and reliable inspection of the cable surface for lumps and neckdowns. Optionally, the TIGER LASER 6010 XY can be combined with a device of the ECOCONTROL-series to visualize detected faults. With the clear presentation cable manufacturers can evaluate faults realistically. There is also the possibility to store the pictures with the processor system ECOCONTROL.

Another highlight on the Sikora booth is the CENTERVIEW 8000 for non-contact online measurement of eccentricity, wall thickness, diameter and ovality of communication, automotive and installation cables. The device has now an integrated 7” touch screen monitor that displays the measuring values. A special edition of the CENTERVIEW 8010 is suitable for the measurement of micro-coax-cables from 0.05 to 10 mm.
