Vedanta is close to finalising the location for a green aluminium plant, as per Chairman Anil Agarwal. He reveals the plans to expand Vedanta’s aluminium production capacity and integrate renewable energy into operations.

He informed that this new facility will be the first-of-a-kind of aluminium production facility with complete green metal production. The move aligns with the company’s ongoing demerger strategy, which will create four independent entities focusing on aluminium, oil and gas, power, iron and steel, and base metals. The restructuring has been approved, and set for completion in the first quarter of the next fiscal year.

Moreover, Vedanta Aluminium is increasing its production capacity by three million tonnes with the acquisition of Odisha’s one of the largest high-grade bauxite mines to support its expansion plan.
