Seeing an enormous growth potential in the Indian market, Proton Products has opened a new office in India- Proton Products India Private Limited. In a recent conversation with Wire & Cable India, Mr. Sunish Bhatia, Country Manager, India & Neighboring Countries, shared that they have recently launched Diameter Surface Inspections- DSI 4030-i4 gauge for the 4 plane laser triangulation profile and contour measuring system.

Wire & Cable India: What are the key innovations shaping the wire and cable industry? How do you help your customers achieve better efficiencies in their production processes?

Sunish Bhatia: The Indian government has announced several infrastructure projects and construction activities across the country. Expansion of transportation networks such as metros, railways, and highways are also anticipated to fuel the demand for cable and wires.

Proton Products is working with innovative technologies- our gauges are an important part of the wire and cable manufacturing lines to keep the products in quality and reduce losses and rejections. Our gauges are developed with smart technologies, having contactless measurements and automatic feedback control. This optimizes material consumption and maintains the products specification to match the industry standards.

WCI: Do you have any R&D team catering to evolving needs? Elaborate more about your R&D efforts.

SB: Proton Products has a dedicated R&D team which continuously works on new developments considering the application needs and improving process control. Our experienced team of professionals operate within a culture of continuous improvement and are firmly focused on developing innovative solutions and high-quality products backed with excellent service.

WCI: What is your current product portfolio catering to the wire & cable sector? Are there any expansion plans in the pipeline?

SB: Proton Products has a very focused portfolio for wire and cable manufacturers where we help our end-users with diameter controller, lump & neck gauges, preheater, spark tester, capacitance gauges, length and speed gauges, and eccentricity gauges for quality controls and saving material.

The new expansion in Proton Products’ portfolio is our Diameter Surface Inspections- DSI 4030-i4 gauge for the 4 plane laser triangulation profile and contour measuring system. The Next generation of this will include an AI data analysis.

WCI: Could you provide insights into your market presence and key clientele globally & in India?

SB: Proton Products has representatives throughout Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East. We have a big list of happy customers using Proton Products’ gauge globally- Cofi Cab, Belden Cables, Mother son, Sumi Electric Wires, ZTT, Star Wire, and many OEMs like, Singcheer Machinery, Baud Extrusions, HRJ, Rosendahl, Maillefer Extrusions etc.

WCI: How do you integrate sustainability into your manufacturing and application processes?

SB: Proton Products has adopted solar energy to power its new production facility.

SB: Recognizing an enormous growth potential in the Indian market, Proton Products has recently opened a new direct office In India “Proton Products India Pvt. Ltd.” Headed by Mr. Sunish Bhatia, who joined us last year as Country Manager India, this office provides our Indian customers with product and service support locally. Proton Products continuously innovates products to meet the customer’s current demands as well as future market needs.
