Work on the 220 kV Hetauda-Bharatpur transmission line project has come to a halt after intervention by the District Forests Office, Makawanpur. The work involving the clearing of forests for the right-of-way for the transmission line remains halted for the next four months starting June 29 and the area will be off limit for anyone during that period. The restriction has been imposed in line with the Forest Act 1993.
Hyderabad based ICOMM Tele Limited is involved in laying the transmission line. The Company has requested the forest office to ease the restriction as it would cause huge loss to the project and also delay the project.
