The steel industry grappling with many chronic issues took upon itself to raise, discuss, and solve challenges in the way of its unhindered growth.
The national body of steel wire and wire rope industry in India since 1968, SWMAI (Steel Wire Manufacturers Association of India), organized their AGM on October 6, 2016 at Hotel Orchid, Mumbai. At the event Mr. Vijay Vedmutha, Managing Director, Bedmutha Industries Ltd. was reelected as the President of the association. The Executive Council addressed various issues related to steel wire industry.
Among key speakers on the dais were Mr. Dilip Dev, CMD, HD Wires Pvt Ltd; Mr. Vijay Vedmutha, Managing Director, Bedmutha Industries Ltd.; Mr. Nirmal Saraf, Managing Director, Nirmal Group of Companies; and Mr. Krishnendu Sanyal, Tata Steel – Global Wires Business addressed the SWMAI members. Mr. Saraf mentored and guided the industry on various subjects.
Additionally, Mr. M. L. Mittal, Managing Director, Bharat Wire Ropes Ltd. shared his wisdom & experience on different industry-related subjects with the audience. The event also witnessed some active participation from the young members of the industry along with their senior counterparts. Everyone present during the event deliberated on various issues the steel wire industry in general is facing and wished for its long-term and healthy growth. Mr. Tirthankar Banerjee, Secretary General, SWMAI coordinated and managed the event ensuring that all the major issues of the industry and association are addressed well during the event.
