Sumitomo Electric Industries Limited will establish a power cable factory in Port of Nigg in the Highlands, Scotland, with the aim of expanding its power cable business in the European region and is currently working on the concrete implementation of these plans.

His Majesty King Charles III of the United Kingdom visited Scotland and toured the area of the Port of Nigg in the Highlands where the company is planning the factory. Mr. Masayoshi Matsumoto, Chairman and CEO of Sumitomo Electric, met with His Majesty after a briefing by local officials and explained the outline of the factory and the employment opportunities to be created in the area.
