About Samrat Wires and its Offerings
Samrat Wires Pvt Ltd, is an associate unit of Gita Group, a group with a turnover of more than Rs. 700 crores. Established in the year 2005, it is primarily engaged in the business of manufacturing steel wires to meet the demanding applications such as cold forming. Located at Khopoli, about 100 Kms away from Mumbai off the Mumbai-Pune highway, it has a state of the art facility that can currently process about 8,000 MT per annum of wires of different sizes and grades. Presently the plant caters to a wide variety of grades that include SAE 1541/EN8D, SAE 4140/SCM 440/SAE 4135/SCM 435, AISI 10B21/15B25, AISI 15B41, SAE 1008/1010/1015, SAE 52100/EN 31, SAE 8620, besides electrode quality wires and MS/LC HB HHB wires.
The Expansion Regime
We have recently commissioned India’s first Hydrogen Wire Annealing furnace from world leader EBNER, Austria at our Khopoli facility. Salient features of this furnace are as follows:
1. Zero addition to the level of decarburization present in the input wire rod
2. Minimum spherodisation of 95%
3. Uniform grain size
4. Bright surface for the wires
5. Shorter cycle times facilitating shorter lead times for delivery to customers
Along with this, we have also updated our wire drawing facilities, in order to supply wires from 2.00 mm to 30 mm. With the addition of the above furnace, SWPL expects to add another 7000 MT per annum of annealing. This would mean that the installed capacity for wire manufacturing would get enhanced from the present 8,000 MT per annum to 15,000 MT per annum. With the addition of the Ebner furnace SWPL is confident to leap frog into a leadership position in the distant future. This evolving modern enterprise will be fully supported in its endeavors by our trained and motivated workforce.
