REELEX® method of coiling allows the product to dispense from the inside-out without rotation, twists, tangles or kinks.
REELEX Packaging Solutions, Inc. develops, licenses and supports the proprietary REELEX® method of coiling and packaging wire, cable, fiber optics, tubing and other filamentary products. This technology creates a self-supporting figure-eight wind that allows the product to dispense from the inside-out without rotation, twists, tangles or kinks. The REELEX coil is typically packaged in a cardboard box, though many other package types are available. REELEX Packaging Solutions manufactures and supplies all necessary winding and ancillary equipment to create REELEX coils, as well as supplying packaging materials, worldwide service, and support.
The most popular REELEX machine in operation today is the single-spindle D-750 coiling machine designed for rewind-line REELEX packaging. Manually operated, this machine can produce up to forty (40) 305-meter long coils per hour at 750 RPM. Equipped with a collapsible mandrel and automatic endform motion which allows for easy coil removal, the D-750 is designed to be operated by a single operator performing coil removal and packaging functions.
The D-750 also features an integrated high-performance buffer system mounted on the frame, which is suitable for data cables such as Category 6 (and higher), as well as fiber optics. The D-750 allows for the flexibility of easily switching between product types in minutes, via easily programmable settings and a wide range of optional mandrel choices. The D-750 also includes the new G2 digital control system equipped with touch screen controls, product configuration storage, on-screen help, equipment networking and more.
REELEX has over 100 licensees operating in over 140 manufacturing plants worldwide, and has become the standard package for most data cable constructions as well as several other types of wire, cable and fiber optic products.
