REC arm incorporates four SPVs for transmission projects

REC Transmission Projects Company Limited (RECTPCL), subsidiary of state-owned Rural Electricity Corporation (REC), has incorporated four special purpose vehicles (SPVs) for the development of transmission projects, which are to be awarded through competitive-based tariff bidding soon.

The SPVs created include Kudgi Transmission Limited for development of transmission systems for evacuation of power from NTPC Limited’s Kudgi Thermal Power Station (TPS) (Phase-I); Nellore Transmission Limited for grid connectivity of NCC Power Projects Limited’s 1,320 MW power project; Unchahar Transmission Limited for development of the 400 kV Unchahar TPS – Fatehpur double-circuit line for supply of power from the Unchahar TSP; and Baira Siul Sarna Transmission Limited for evacuation of power from the Baira Siul hydro electric plant via the 220 kV Baira Siul–Sarna double circuit line.
