Ravin Group has secured a contract for providing specialized fire survival cables for the Indian Railways’ Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link.
As per the leading daily — Ravin has been chosen as the preferred partner for the expertise, technical prowess, product knowledge, and experience of the company with the project cost of INR 50 crore.
Under the contract, the Ravin Group will be providing 33 kV and 11 kV medium voltage specialised fire survival cables along with low voltage cables and control cables to the longest tunnel (T13) which has an approximate length of 9.3 km and is located in the Katra-Dharam section.
The entire is 272 km in length from Udhampur to Baramulla and is estimated to cost the government Rs 19,565 crore. The project comprises 38 tunnels and 927 bridges.

According to the railway ministry, the budget of the USBRL Project for the year 2021-22 is INR 4200 crore. Declared as a National Project in 2020, it is expected to be completed in April 2023.
