Leoni Cable Solutions India, an Indian subsidiary of German company Leoni AG, acquired by Ravicab Cables and rebranded as Elegar Kerpen, is eyeing a three-fold sales growth by 2026-27.

Ravicab Cables Private Limited acquired 100 percent equity in Leoni Cable Solutions India Private Limited (LCSI). Post divestiture by Leoni AG Group in 2022, a 100-year-old brand in the cable industry, LCSI is repositioning itself as Elegar Kerpen Kabel India. The company has estimated a 3-fold growth rate post the acquisition. The strategic move will help the progressive cable manufacturer expand its product range and reach new markets worldwide, especially in the Indian Subcontinent, South East Asia, the Middle East, Australia, and the UK. The new brand name is inspired by the words Electric and Garden (Hub), creating ‘ELEGAR’. Kerpen is a renowned global brand with over 100 years of vintage in the oil and gas sector. With this acquisition, Elegar has inherited the name and its legacy for the oil & gas and industrial project segment.
Chairman and Managing Director of Elegar Kerpen, Mr. Hemant K Mehta, expressed his excitement on the acquisition, saying, “We are excited over the completion of this acquisition in three months and subsequent rebranding. This acquisition brings world-class equipment, German technology, and trained professional manpower to grow the business to three folds by 2026-27 and the synergies it will bring on procurement, sharing best practices, common professional advisors and customer focus between Elegar Kerpen and Ravicab Cables.”

The two companies are currently focusing on enhancing their product offering in the cable industry. Elegar Kerpen is associated with some of the most recognized and prestigious projects, including the Atal Tunnel, Reliance Jamnagar refinery, various Shell Energy projects, Vande Bharat Express train, and Pune Metro Rail. Under its clean energy initiatives, the company has also supplied DC string cables to solar power generation projects to a tune of 10 GW. The company has recently appointed Business Partners in the UAE and is discussing enhancing its presence by appointing partners in other Middle-East countries. The company has been serving customers in Europe as well as in Russia. Elegar Kerpen already has a presence in Russia, Singapore, UAE, India, and China and is expanding in Europe.
