RailTel Corporation of India Limited, one of the largest telecom infrastructure providers in the country, has received a work order worth INR 16,89,38,002 (including tax) from the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the laying of Optical Fiber Cables (OFCs).

The Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) said in a regulatory filing that the project is expected to be completed by March 17, 2026.
Earlier in February 2025, the Navratna PSU had secured an order from East Central Railway for works amounting to INR 2,88,14,67,426 (including tax).

The project involved working towards the provision of Kavach (indigenous Train Collision Avoidance System) on a low density railway track in 502.2 RKm of East Central Railway.
