The newest vessel ‘Ulisse’ added in the fleet of Prysmian Group will be used for the execution of Negros-Panay connection in the Philippines.

The world leader in telecom cable system industry, Prysmian Group has announced the launch of new vessel named Ulisse which will be used for operations like offshore cable installation. It has eight point mooring system which can work even in harsh environmental conditions. Also, it has a capacity of transporting around 7,000 tonne of cable in nearly 30 m diameter carousel. Additionally, Ulisse can be equipped with a stern mounted cable chute and a carousel loading pick-up arm for surface lay operations.
With an investment of more than 20 million Euros, the group will now be backed by a fleet of three vessels including Ulisse, Giulio Verne, and Cable Enterprise. This will further enhance the project execution activities enabling faster installation even in shallow waters. Its extensive range of in-house cable protection equipment will provide a strengthened and an extended submarine cable installation capability. The first project to be executed by Ulisse include design, supply, installation and commissioning of a submarine cable system of HVAC 230 kV, with XLPE insulation, along a 22 km long submarine route across the Guimaras Strait.
