2021: The year that was
The year 2021 has been very interesting for us. We were able to consolidate our position in the market and grow the business significantly in spite of several challenges on the supply chain and volatile commodity market. Our relationship with customers got further strengthened as we have played a significant role in their growth. In 2021, we added two new business lines primarily as part of backward integration. We added an FRP manufacturing plant as well as PVC compounding units. This backward integration has helped us in controlling our supply chain up to some extend during unprecedented volatility in the market. We have added some new products in our existing business lines of copper and optical fibre cable product portfolio, besides adding several new products in our pre-connectorized product portfolio of copper cable.
2022: The year that will be
During 2021-22, we are quite hopeful to grow significantly in our revenues and bottom line. Penetration of the internet due to the need for connectivity during COVID is helping in keeping the markets upbeat for us. There is a renewed focus on exports. We are now a significant player in our home market in copper LAN cables, CCTV cables, optical fibre cables and other specialised cable. We are focussing to strengthen our position in overseas markets as well in 2022 and continue growing in our home market. Orient Cables is constantly talent hunting and humbly invites honest, capable team members of the industry to the organisation and be the part of our growth journey.
Key Trends Driving the Growth
Due to increased demand in last-mile deployment led by work from home and learn from home as well as the need of increasing tower fiberization for 5G rollout, we are quite confident to see a surge in demand in optical fibre cable and copper cable products in 2022 onwards. Also, due to a significant increase in data centres build globally, the need for several specialised fibre and copper connectivity products is gaining demand.
