Leading energy conglomerate of India NTPC Limited has approved an investment of INR 20,921.85 crore in two thermal power plant projects (1×800 MW each) in the country.
The state-owned power giant revealed in a regulatory filing that its Board of Directors gave approval to the investment proposals during their meeting on September 19, 2024.

As per the approval, NTPC will invest INR 9,790.87 crore in stage-III of the Sipat Super Thermal Power Project (1×800 MW), located in Chhattisgarh.
The leading power company of India will also invest INR 11,130.98 crore in Stage II of the Darlipali Super Thermal Power Project, located in Odisha.
Both the projects will also see an expansion of 1×800 MW each, which will be further added in the NTPC portfolio.

The Central Public Sector Undertaking said in an exchange filing that the order was for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package for 1×800 MW Sipat Supercritical Thermal Power Project Stage-III in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh.
The project, scheduled to be completed within two years from the date of notification of award, included supply of equipment, construction, commissioning and civil works for the thermal power plant.
