The Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Power, Godknows Igali, has assured Nigerians that the government’s target of generating 40,000 MW of power by year 2020 would be realised, with the expectation of more capacities from Mambilla, Zungeru large hydros and grid power from the solar, wind and coal-to-power initiative.
Mr. Igali expressed optimism that Nigerians will soon experience uninterrupted power, adding that although Government has not privatised transmission, with huge investment required in the evacuation of power, the government has encouraged the private sector to pry into the sub-sector.
