National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) initially started with 6,835 projects in 2019, has expanded to cover over 9,288 projects with a total expenditure of INR 108.88 lakh crore between 2020-25, according to the finance ministry. NIP is a first-of-its-kind initiative to provide world-class infrastructure across the country and improve the quality of life for all citizens.

The Finance Ministry posted on X that “NIP comprises brownfield and greenfield infrastructure projects of above Rs 100 crore across both economic and social infrastructure. NIP consists of projects implemented by all the states and Union Territories of India and 22 infrastructure ministries.”
