The state power utility firm, MSEDCL, has completed installation of 4364km underground cables as part of Integrated Power Development Scheme for expansion and strengthening of energy distribution networks in 254 cities/towns across Maharashtra.
“Compared to other states, more work of underground cabling has been done in Maharashtra which is the main highlight of the scheme,” said MSEDCL chairman and managing director Vijay Singhal. Underground cables are better than overground wires which get damaged in case of gusty winds, downpour or cyclone.
