Mr. T.V. Narendran, CEO & MD of Tata Steel has been elected as the Chair of the World Steel Association.

The World Steel Association (worldsteel) has elected Mr. Thachat Viswanath Narendran, MD & CEO of Tata Steel. He became the second Indian followed by Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Group Chairman of JSW, to head the World Steel Association. He will hold the office for the 2024/2025 period.

As the CEO & MD, he has overseen the organic and inorganic growth of Tata Steel over the last few years. He has over 35 years of experience in the Mining and Metals industry. Mr. Narendran is currently on the Board of Tata Steel Limited and he is the Chairman of Tata Steel Europe. He is on the Executive Board of Directors of World Steel Association as the Vice Chairman. He is currently serving as the Vice President of All India Management Association (AIMA).

World Steel Association is one of the largest and most dynamic industry associations in the world, with members in every major steel-producing country. The organization represents steel producers, national and regional steel industry associations, and steel research institutes. Members represent around 85% of global steel production.
