With over 25 years of experience and a presence in the global cable industry, Mixer recently developed a new series of moisture compounds under the brand name EKOgraft®. The new portfolio includes grades available for photovoltaic cables according to EN 50618 and TÜV specifications and grades for other applications are currently in development. The new EKOgraft® products are designed with the aim to simplify the customers’ process, also making the cable production faster and more flexible, with improved consistency.
This new series of products is part of Mixer’s offer which includes the already known EKOPREN® portfolio, a complete range of crosslinkable rubber compounds, which can be customized for continuous vulcanization or e-beam cable production lines. These tailored rubber- based solutions are designed to support the customers process and meet stringent international requirements for several applications: from industrial and building cables to automotive and offshore sectors, not forgetting windmills and marine industry.

Among the EKOPREN® portfolio, of paramount impor- tance are the insulation compounds dedicated to medium voltage applications: hard or flexible products covering an operating voltage from 6 to 95 kV for single-core or multicore cables, with lead and lead-free versions. Mixer’s EKOPREN® medium voltage grades are suitable for operating temperatures of 90°C and 105°C, in addition are compliant to the international standards, UL 1072 and ICEA S-94-649-2013.
Since its foundation, Mixer consolidated its business constantly, investing in research and development, with an approach strongly oriented towards the technology and the innovation: all the compounds are based on proprietary technology from the formulation to the production, making unique the Mixer’s products. The company also invested in its compounding facility, designing and assembling custom machinery. A state-of- the-art software called MES – Manufacturing Execution System – controls the equipment, allowing a real-time control and optimization of the production process. A complete technical team is also dedicated to support the clients, even in their plant, in order to finalize the best customized solution for their production.
