Mexichem, a leading polymer compound manufacturing company, is set to start a new thermoplastic compounding plant to produce ‘specialty thermoplastic compounds’ with a strong focus on the wire and cable industry. The new plant is expected to commence by early to mid 2018 at Goa. During its initial production phase, the plant will manufacture 12-15 kt of plastic compounds every year. The plant will not only cater the Indian sub-continent but will also export to the Middle East and ASEAN countries.
Mr. Sameer Bharadwaj, President, Mexichem Compounds said, “We have great faith in the Indian market and in its highly-skilled and motivated workforce. That is why Mexichem is continuing to expand across the sub-continent.”
The new plant will produce specialty thermoplastic compounds based on both PVC and non-PVC polymers with a strong focus on flame retardant compounds for the wire and cable industry. “In addition to our complete range of existing wire and cable compounds, the site will be geared to offer locally customized compounds to meet the specific local needs of our customers in this region,” adds Mr. Bharadwaj.
