L&T Constructions’ PT&D business has bagged significant orders to deliver EPC infrastructure in India for private developers and government projects including RDSS and Chennai Metro’s Phase 2; and in the overseas market, to commission a 132kV substation in the United Arab Emirates.

Larsen & Toubro Construction’s power transmission & distribution (PT&D) business has bagged EPC orders of significant value in India and overseas. The business has received these orders under various segments, including government schemes.

Reforms-based Results-linked Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), aimed at reducing Aggregate Technical & Commercial (AT&C) losses at the pan-India level, distribution utilities are approaching modernization to improve operational efficiency and financial sustainability, such as segregating feeders, reconductoring, cabling, augmenting line networks and elements, geo-tagging of assets, etc.
The business has to develop distribution infrastructure for two discom circles in western Rajasthan. It will deliver the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of 110 kV Receiving Substations (RSS), 33kV Auxiliary Substations (ASS), and SCADA systems for the northern sections of corridors 3 and 5, Phase 2 of Chennai Metro.

Internationally, the business will supply, construct, test, and commission a 132kV substation in the UAE.
L&T Construction follows an internal classification for their order values. The company identifies orders worth INR 1,000-2,500 crores as significant, INR 2,500-5,000 crores as large, INR 5,000-7,000 crores as major, and over INR 7,000 crores as mega.
