L&T’s power business has also secured another order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for rural electrification works in Jammu & Kashmir.

The business has secured an order for constructing 220kV & 110kV Transmission Lines in Kochi, Kerala. Advanced Multi-Circuit Multi-Voltage narrow based towers will be used for this package which connects several substations in the city and suburbs. For most part of the lines, right of way of existing 66kV lines will be used for accommodating this corridor of higher voltage levels. The TransGrid project is said to be the largest ever transmission project in the history of Kerala State Electricity Board aimed at meeting the load growth and to ensure reliable and stable power supply across the state. Catering to a fast growing metropolis, the awarded package forms a crucial part of this project.
The business has secured another order from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited for rural electrification works in Jammu & Kashmir. The scope of this package involves construction of 33kV/11kV Substations, HT & LT Lines, Distribution Transformers, etc for providing service connections to households in villages and habitations in the districts of Ramban, Udhampur and Reasi. Additional orders have been bagged from certain ongoing power distribution jobs.
