The orders include various government-backed projects, such as Khavda Renewable Energy (RE) Zone in Gujarat, wherein L&T will develop 765kV and 400kV gas-insulated pooling substations. The company will also develop 765kV gas-insulated and air-insulated substations, pooling and remote-end, for Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh, based RE as well.

L&T will have to develop over 7 kilometers of gas-insulated bus ducts, bus reactors, and protection and automation systems to serve the RE orders. RE zones are solar and wind energy generation parks, housing a number of projects backed by different developers, where power is collected at pooling substations, which transmit the same to nationwide, or statewide, grids. The projects are housed in contiguous land pockets, replicating agricultural farms.
