LS Cable will set up its factory on an area of 126,000 square meters in Mexico’s central state of Querétaro to produce bus ducts, a modern electricity distribution system, which can reduce power usage by more than 30 percent.

Korean power cable maker LS Cable & Systems has revealed its plans to construct a factory in Mexico to produce bus ducts, a modern electricity distribution system, which offers convenience in installation & maintenance and can reduce power usage by more than 30 percent.

LS Cable recently said that it will build a bus duct factory on a 126,000-square-meter site in Mexico’s central state of Querétaro. The construction will start in the later half of 2024 and is expected to reach completion by 2025.

LS Cables will use its fourth bus duct production facility as an export base targeting North American markets. The Korean company had earlier set up factories in Korea, China and Vietnam.

As per a release issued by LS Cables, Mexico presented advantages such as low labor costs and the opportunity to benefit from incentives under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) and the U.S. Inflation Reduction Act (IRA).

LS Cable is aiming at bus duct sales in North America to reach USD 100 million by 2030. As per the company, the North American bus duct market is experiencing rapid growth due to the construction of large-scale data centers, semiconductor facilities, electric vehicle factories and battery plants.
