South Korean cable manufacturer LS Cable & System has signed an MoU with Northland Power, a Canadian new and renewable energy developer, to work together in the domestic offshore wind power segment.
As a part of the agreement, the two companies will prescribe the role of each company and various matters necessary for the offshore wind power generation business and agreed to cooperate in related EPC (design, procurement, and construction).

Since its foundation in 1987 in Toronto, Northland Power has been engaged in the development and operation of new and renewable energy infrastructure such as wind power and photovoltaics, in Europe, and has been making thorough efforts to advance its presence in Asian nations like Taiwan and Japan.
LS Cable & System President & CEO Roe-Hyun Myung said, “With this MoU, we will comply with the government’s new and renewable energy policy and contribute to job creation.”

Recently, LS Cable & System was chosen as a priority supplier of submarine cables for Northland Power’s 1GW Hai Long Wind Farm Project in Taiwan. In fact, Northland Power is also increasing its operations in South Korea, for instance, the 1.3 GW Dado Ocean Wind Power Project in Jeollanam-do. These projects will gradually benefit the revenues of LS Cable & System.
