In a recent interaction with Wire & Cable India, Mr. Karan Shah, Director-Marketing and Business Development, Lifeline Technologies shared about the company’s wire and cable segment’s product range, new product developments, company expansion plans and the market potential for the Indian wire and cable industry.
Wire & Cable India: Kindly brief us about your company along with the company’s philosophy?
Karan Shah: Lifeline Technologies was established in 1993 with a mission to manufacture innovative and specialty products of global standards. Since then, we have been leading the global specialty additives industry and our promise is to deliver performance and value addition to our business partners. Lifeline Technologies follows the philosophy of attaining unparalleled growth through ethical business practices.
WCI: Could you please elaborate on Lifeline’s product range and their USPs, with regard to the wire and cable segment?
KS: We are a one stop solution provider for the wire and cable industry for their requirements of additives, master batches, compounds and water blocking tapes. We have unique offerings like rodent repellent, termite repellent, squirrel repellent, UV additives, laser marking masterbatch and combi batches which combine colour as well. We offer a wide range of RAL / Pantone based colour master batches for PE, HFFR, PVC, EVA, XLPE, PBT, TPU, PA, PC base resins. We have developed unique flame retardant additives for FRLS and HFFR applications. We also offer flame retardant compounds to achieve the highest ratings that comply with European norms. We offer superior quality of nonwoven and woven swellable tapes and yarns for the cable industry – power cable, telecom cable and specialty cable.

WCI: Kindly emphasize on the R&D investments done by the company. What are the new product developments at the company?
KS: Our products are a result of years of research and development to ensure the highest of standards. We have set up a state-of-the-art R&D, quality check and manufacturing facility about 30 kms from Mumbai. This enhances our additive and masterbatch manufacturing capabilities and more than doubles from last year’s production capacity. Furthermore, for quality assurance our analytical laboratory is equipped with the latest equipment which ensures stringent quality checks. This ensures we maintain high-standards, flawless performances and consistency in our offerings. Certification from local as well as global third-party laboratories and organizations is proof of our commitment to quality.
Our latest range of products include PBT polymer with intrinsic viscosity (IV) value of 1.3, laser marking additive masterbatch, specialized water blocking tape for medium voltage, high voltage and optical fibre cables, flame retardant additive and masterbatch and ATO replacement grade.

These range from wire and cable to consumer and household durables, as well as packaging and agriculture, to name a few. We cater to our domestic and international customers, spread over 32 countries globally from a single location. Our new facility has capabilities to simulate manufacturing conditions of our customers and innovate so we can develop and test our world class products.

WCI: How do you view the potential of the wire and cable industry? What are the recent trends?
KS: The wire and cable industry is growing at a very fast pace due to the consumer requirements of better overall connectivity.
