Larsen & Toubro (L&T) construction division Power Transmission & Distribution IC has secured engineering, procurement and construction contracts worth Rs. 1,366 crore (USD 304.68m) from GCC countries for construction of electricity transmission lines.L&T subsidiary Larsen & Toubro Saudi Arabia has received a contract worth Rs. 597 crore (USD 132.7m) from the Saudi Electricity Company to build 225km of 380kV transmission line project connected to Haramain high speed railway in Saudi Arabia. The project is expected to be complete in 24 months.Abu Dhabi Ports Company (ADPC) has assigned a contract worth Rs. 422 crore (USD 93.7m) to develop five medium voltage substations and associated 33kV cabling works for ADPC’s Khalifa Port & Industrial Zone project.Dubai Electricity & Water Authority has awarded L&T a contract worth Rs. 75 crore (USD 16.8m) for the construction of 132kV cabling & associated works, to be complete in 11 months.Under a Rs. 185 crore (USD 41m) contract from Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation, L&T will provide engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 66 km of 220 kV underground cabling works.In addition, L&T (Oman) a JV company of L&T in Muscat Oman has received a contract worth Rs. 87 crore (USD 19.3m) to construct 3 MV substations including the associated 33 kV cabling works from Muscat Electricity Distribution Company, to be complete in nine months.
