KEC International Ltd. announced its audited results for the year FY 2010-11 and unaudited results for the quarter ended March 31, 2011. For the financial year 2010-11, the company reported a turnover of Rs. 4,474 crore.
Recently KEC has secured turnkey contract for construction of 400 kV transmission lines between Babhaleshwar – Aurangabad and Bhusawal – Aurangabad. The order is secured from the state utility Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (Mahatransco), India. Total order value is Rs. 367 crores and the completion period is 18 months.
SAE Towers, wholly owned subsidiary, has secured Rs. 183 crore tower supply order in Brazil. The order is received from the client Norte Do Brasil Transmissora De Energia S.A., Brazil. Earlier KEC has won orders to the tune of Rs. 801 crore in the areas of Transmission (Domestic & International) and Cables.
In India, the company has secured three orders from Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) worth total Rs. 224 crore and one order from state utility APTRANSCO worth Rs. 84 crore on turnkey basis. The First PGCIL order is for the supply & construction of 765 KV single circuit transmission line between Chamradol – Satna. This transmission line is associated with Rihand – III & Vindhyachal – IV in Madhya Pradesh.
This project is part of PGCIL’s plan for inter-regional system strengthening and evacuation of power from various integrated power plants coming up in the region. The order value is Rs. 109 crore and this will be executed over a period of 21 months.
The Second PGCIL order is for the supply & construction of 400 kV double circuit transmission line between Roorkee – Saharanpur and transmission line in Bareilly. The lines will be constructed in Uttrakhand and Uttar Pradesh and are associated with Northern Region Strengthening Scheme-XXI. The order value is Rs. 93 crore and this will be executed over a period of 18 months.
The Third PGCIL order is for supply and construction for 400 KV double circuit transmission line between Barh – Balia at Patna, Bihar associated with common scheme for Network for Western Region and 220 KV Double Circuit Dehri Bodhgaya Transmission Line at Gaya associated with Supplementary transmission system for Damodar Valley Corporation & Maithon Right bank Project in Bihar. The order value is Rs. 22 crore and this will be executed over a period of 12 months.
The APTRANSCO order is for supply & construction of transmission line associated with the evacuation of power from Krishnapatnam. This is the first 400 kV quad line being built by APTRANSCO and making it among the very few Indian utilities to construct transmission line at this voltage and line configuration. The order value is Rs. 84 crore and this will be executed over a period of 12 months. In International markets, the company has secured orders from Saudi Arabia, South Africa, United States and Brazil. The Saudi order is from the client Saudi Electricity Company for supply and construction of 132 kV transmission lines on turnkey basis. The order value is Rs. 78 crore and this will be executed over a period of 20 months.
The South Africa order is from the client Eskom for supply and construction of 765 kV transmission line between Gamma – Kappa (Section-B) on turnkey basis in South Africa. Total order value is Rs. 98 crore. This is the 4th order from South Africa in this financial year. The contractual completion period is 18 months.
SAE Towers, wholly owned subsidiary, has secured Rs. 150 crore supply orders in Americas. This represents transmission tower orders mainly from United States and Brazil. In addition, the company has secured supply orders for Extra High Voltage Power Cables, High Tension, Low Tension & Telecom Cables from various customers worth Rs. 107 crore.
