JSW Energy is planning to establish a wind turbine blade manufacturing facility in Karnataka. The plant aims to ensure a steady supply of wind turbine generators (WTGs), ultimately cutting renewable energy project costs, as per the report.

The estimated cost to set up a facility capable of assembling 400-500 turbines annually is around USD 50 million.
With surplus land at its 12.5 million tonnes per annum steel plant in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, JSW Energy is well-positioned to house the new unit. The company also operates a 225 MW solar power plant near Vijayanagar, dedicated to powering the steel plant.
