India and Saudi Arabia are looking to strengthen trade ties in the fields of electronic vehicle (EV), renewable energy (RE), power generation and natural gas, along with heavy machinery from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL).

India has offered to supply specialty steel for Saudi Arabia’s ambitious megacity project, the New Economic-Technological Area (NEOM) project, worth around USD 1.5 trillion.
The information was shared by Union Minister of Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy on a social networking platform after meeting Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources Bandar Alkhorayef, who is on an official visit to India.

As per Mr. Kumaraswamy, he had an enriching discussion with Mr. Alkhorayef on expanding collaboration in the automobile, steel, mining, clean energy, electric mobility and infrastructure sectors.
The two countries were exploring cooperation in heavy machinery from Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL). They were also looking to strengthen trade ties with collaboration in the fields of electronic vehicle (EV), renewable energy (RE), power generation and natural gas.
Mr. Kumaraswamy further posted on X (formerly Twitter) that he has officially extended the invitation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for India Steel 2025, an international exhibition-cum-conference showcasing India’s thriving steel sector, while addressing key challenges and emerging opportunities shaping the industry’s future.

Scheduled to be held from April 24-26, 2025 in Mumbai, the event will provide the much-needed integrated platform to facilitate the growth of the industry in the region and connect new technologies & innovative products, equipment, tools and live machine displays.
