Leading cable solutions provider Hellenic Cables signed an agreement with Vattenfall to supply inter-array cables for the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone. Under the contract, Hellenic Cables will produce nearly 850 km aluminum conductor inter-array cables through 2025 to 2028, to interconnect the wind turbines of each string and each string to the offshore substation.

Hellenic Cables, Cenergy Holdings’ cable segment, has recently signed an agreement with European energy company Vattenfall for the supply of inter-array cables for the Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone. Under this contract, Hellenic Cables will design, manufacture, test and supply approximately 850 km of the 66 kV XLPE-insulated aluminum subsea inter-array cables and the associated accessories, which will link the wind turbines of each string and each string to the offshore substation. The cables will be produced at Hellenic Cables’ vertically integrated, state-of-the-art submarine cables plant in Corinth, Greece.

Cable production will take place through the years 2025 to 2028 according to the project’s delivery time schedule. The Norfolk Offshore Wind Zone will provide electricity to approximately 4.6 million homes, making it one of the largest offshore wind zones in the world upon completion.
