The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has submitted detailed project reports for renovation of power distribution system in 13 towns of the state at a cost of Rs. 292.97 crore to the Power Finance Corporation (PFC) for its approval. The reports have been submitted under Part- B of the Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Programme (RAPDRP) of the Union Government. The distribution reforms committee at state-level has already approved these projects.
Mohammed Shayin, managing director, DHBVN said that the Nigam plans to spend Rs. 600 crore in phased manner under Part-B of RAPDRP to strengthen power distribution system in 16 towns which have already been approved by the Centre for power development under the programme. The towns having a population of 30,000 or more are being covered under the programme. In the first phase, schemes of renovation of distribution system costing Rs. 292.97 crore have been sent for approval.
