Gujarat Science and Technology Department conducted a pilot project under which Gujarat Fiber Grid Network Limited (GFGNL) is planning to deliver 25,000 Fiber-to-Home (FTH) connections to rural households. Under this initiative, households in rural areas of Gujarat will be provided with high-quality internet connections and other value-added services at affordable rates.

Under a pilot project by Gujarat Science and Technology Department, Gujarat Fiber Grid Network Limited (GFGNL) is planning to deliver 25,000 Fiber-to-Home (FTH) connections to rural households in collaboration with various agencies.
These connections will include value-added services (VAS) such as Wi-Fi, cable TV (free-to-air and paid channels), OTT (Over-the-Top television), and gaming.

This is a part of Digital Gujarat campaign, the ‘Har Ghar Connectivity’ with the aim of digitally empowering households in the rural areas of the state by converting them into ‘Smart Homes’.
Under this initiative, households in rural areas of Gujarat will be provided with high-quality internet connections and other value-added services at affordable rates.
Through this initiative, services like television entertainment, payment of utility bills, digital service stacks, and government-to-citizen (G2C) services will be made available to rural households. Additionally, services such as online education (e-education), IoT solutions for agriculture, e-agriculture, information dissemination related to animal husbandry, e-health, and telemedicine will also be available at home.

Additionally, rural government offices will be connected to the state capital, Gandhinagar, through the BharatNet network under this initiative. This will provide easy digital connectivity to the state which will further strengthen e-governance. GFGNL will also provide faster connectivity to government offices in urban areas as well.
With these initiatives, the Gujarat government aims to realize the goal of a connected government, connected citizens, connected communities, and connected businesses in the state of Gujarat.
