Fine Products’ Halogen free & flexible PVC compounds are used in a wide range of markets for cable and similar applications. With a production capacity of 28000 MTPA, it claims that its well-equipped laboratory adheres to strict quality control measures to ensure product performance. “Quality is embedded in the blood and we never deviate from it whatsoever the situation may arise,” the company’s Director, Mr. Dev Bengani informs Wire & Cable India.

Journey and Inspiration
We have been in the industry since the year 1994 and there is a long way to go. My dad, Mr. Ajeeth Bengani, came up with the idea while he was pursuing a degree in law from Kolkata University (surprisingly) but you never know when a new thought arises. Today, it is a family business where a very dedicated team puts in continuous and rigorous efforts.

Unique Product Properties and Distinct Results
Compromising quality with the cost is never spoken about here. We stick to the standards; how unique it may be. A well-equipped lab with the finest of apparatus and appliances just assists us in maintaining dignity and keeping up with our word.

We cater PVC compounds for low temperature, high temperature, high electrical properties, high/ normal resistance, good flexibility and sustainability. In short, cables for any conditions, we are there.

Our new product, low smoke zero halogen compound was launched successfully a few days back, and now, for its performance, we never hesitate in saying that it has a class of its own. Properties of smoke/oxygen/flexibility and strength/tear resistance are a few that’s kept intact. We feel it’s only a small contribution towards the environment as it is pollutant free.

Technology Relied on to Produce and Challenges
Machines, be it an extruder, kneaders, or mixers, are bought with the utmost care from reputed makers. This just assures that the quality is not compromised even there. The cost is, of course, on the higher side and delivery is delayed as usual, but that needs to be overlooked for a product that’s niche, doesn’t harm the environment and pulls off well. A good machine always works in an apt manner with a decent recipe.

Mechanism to Ensure Product Quality
We have proper production standards to follow and work instructions are given accordingly. Quality checks at every stage, be it raw materials at the incoming stage, while processing or the final outcome, are monitored and recorded as well. It is correlated with the formula used, as in the results should match with what has been put in there theoretically even.

Sustainability
We never compromise with quality i.e. the recipe and the ingredients. A strict check is kept on the incoming and the final outcome. Our personnel are well trained to carry out this job effectively and efficiently.

Growth Figures
The industry is growing rapidly not only in terms of volume but appropriate products as well. They want superior goods though at a nominal price and that’s changing the scenario.

India being a diverse country, which means any kind of grade works here, but slowly the elephants in the domestic trade are getting more conscious of the grass or plant they are consuming; thus, they are now more rigid towards the quality. Maybe the orders they are getting for exports demand this. Whatever the case maybe, it’s a sign of development and good growth. Being a compounder, I can’t state a particular figure, but work here is rising and is on a boom.

Sourcing Raw Materials and Challenges
Sourcing became a challenge during the Covid era and the Red Sea attack which eventually made the market very volatile. You can rather call it an equity market; prices just play the whole day, irrespective of all the major or minor raw materials. Imports have been affected simultaneously. The purchase has to be done more cautiously (though not in our hands and depends on the selling orders and capital invested), because a big chunk of the margin now depends on it.
