Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced an allocation of INR 100 crore for a pilot project to shift overhead electricity cables to underground laid cables as part of the 2025-26 budget. This initiative aligns with the government’s vision of making Delhi self-reliant in energy.

In her budget speech, Gupta highlighted that the Power Department has been allocated INR 3,847 crore for various schemes and projects. “This budget is a significant step toward making Delhi self-reliant in the energy sector and ensuring a cleaner future,” she stated.
