The State Grid Corp., one of China’s two major power grid operators, is going to invest more than 300 billion yuan to develop power grid ultra-high voltage power transmission and smart grid.
The investment package maintained stable compared to the 305.4 billion yuan investment in power grid in 2012.
In 2013, the company will also start operation of 50,000 kilometers of alternating current (AC) power transmission lines with capacity of more than 110 kilovolts, 2,210 kilometers of direct current (DC) power transmission lines, 230 million kilovolt-ampere of substation capacity, and 8 million kilowatts of converting capacity.
Besides, State Grid will launch a batch of demonstrative intelligent substation projects and installed more than 30 million intelligent meters in 2013.
According to the 2012 annual social responsibility report, the State Grid Corp targets to increase its ultra-high voltage and cross-regional power transmission capacity to 210 million kilowatts and guarantee clean power supply of 350 million kilowatts by 2015.
