The ADC Submarine Cable, a large-scale international telecommunications project spanning 9,988 km, has been successfully commissioned in Hong Kong.

Developed through a collaboration between India’s TATA Communications, Japan’s SoftBank, China Unicom, Singapore Telecom, China Telecom, Vietnam’s VIETTEL, the Philippines’ PLDT, and Thailand’s NT, the first major submarine cable system launched in the Asia-Pacific in nearly a decade, marks a significant milestone in regional digital connectivity.
Armed with an advanced open cable architecture and high-capacity optical transmission technology, ADC Submarine Cable is set to boost the region’s digital ecosystem by linking key locations across the Asia-Pacific.
The submarine initiative has the region’s highest transmission capacity and the most extensive fiber pair network with each fiber pair supporting over 20 Tb/s, taking the total capacity of the system above 160 Tb/s.

The infrastructure will not only provide diverse routing options but also improve network stability and resilience, further strengthening the region’s digital ecosystem.
