Bidding Initiated for Intrastate Transmission Scheme in J&K

The project, scheduled to commission within 18 months of the SPV transfer date, involves a large number of grid substations & transmission lines of up to 220kV, and aims to strengthen the intrastate transmission network in the UT of J&K.

Bidding has commenced for the development of an intrastate transmission system (InSTS) scheme in the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) model.

PFC Consulting Limited (PFCCL) is coordinating the bidding process and has invited technical and financial bids from prospective participants. The deadline for submission is set for February 28, 2025.

The project is being undertaken through a special purpose vehicle (SPV), Wahipora and Sallar Transmission Limited, currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of PFCCL. The SPV will be transferred to the selected developer following the conclusion of the bidding process.

The project, scheduled for commissioning within 18 months of the SPV transfer, involves the development of several grid substations and transmission lines with capacities of up to 220 kV. It is designed to strengthen the intrastate transmission network in Jammu & Kashmir.

Implemented under the build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) model, the project is being supported by Jammu & Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL), which will serve as the concession grantor.
