Belden Inc, a prominent global supplier of network infrastructure and digitization solutions, has marked a significant milestone in its operations in India with the groundbreaking ceremony of expansion of their manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune with an investment of INR 248.64 crore.
According to Gaurav Dhamija. Senior Director, Customer Innovation Center (CIC) – Americas Region, Belden Inc, the expansion would increase the existing footprint of the 5-year-old facility by 19,000 square meters, while also doubling Belden’s production capacities to meet the rising demands for network and data solutions. These include demands for energy, water and wastewater, mining and gas, mass transit, and the manufacture of several goods needed to support a growing population.

The expansion has underscored the company’s dedication to enable its customers to take advantage of Belden’s expertise, irrespective of their location. It will make a significant contribution to the growth of the automation and smart infrastructure industries not only in India, but also around the world, he added.
The phase-2 of the Chakan plant would be equipped to manufacture state-of-the-art specialized Ethernet switches and firewalls designed for industrial and building automation, connectivity solutions and assemblies of patch cords and connectors tailored for diverse industrial applications, reinforcing Belden’s global impact.

The development aligned seamlessly with the substantial investments and capabilities showcased by the company at their Customer Innovation Center (CIC) and R&D/engineering facilities in India.
