In a joint interaction with Mr. Keith Glossop, Technical Director, Batoyle Freedom Group, and Mr. Ravi Bansal, CEO, Ajex and Turner Wire Dies Co., team WCI explored the strengths of Batoyle products and got valuable insights into how Batoyle supports the Indian wire and cable industry.

Main Products
Copper Wire Drawing Lubricants
Speaking about his main products, Mr. Keith said, “Mastersol (DC – 13 and CT – 21) lubricants are semi-synthetic and highly sophisticated and have been designed to draw RBD, intermediate, fine and superfine inlet and finishing wire sizes. They are suitable for both high speed plain/tinned wire drawing applications and slow speed in-line drawing-coating applications. Their exceptional thermal stability minimises their oxidative degradation and prolongs their life. These lubricants produce a super clean and uniform wire surface finish, generating superior continuity of enamelled wires. In addition, they have excellent tolerance for building copper fines, copper in solution and tramp oil contamination. The emulsion has a micro particle size that reduces dragout/top-up rates and enables sophisticated filtration of emulsion. These lubricants provide outstanding wear protection for all commonly used materials, including hardened steel, tungsten carbide, ceramics and natural and synthetic diamond.
Aluminium Wire Drawing Lubricants
“Batral (A-5) lubricants are suitable for drawing pure aluminium and the 5000, 6000 and 7000 series of aluminium alloys. They have ‘anti-fling’ additives to minimise oil misting and provide improved health and safety/operator acceptance. They can be used on high-speed slip and non-slip accumulative machines. Their complex formulation is semi synthetic and designed around a sophisticated additive system that gives synergistic effects to the lubricity components in the formulation. As they have low reactivity to aluminium, they inhibit the production of problematic aluminium soaps that tend to cause thixotropic effects in the lubricant (thickening/gelling).”
