PGCIL laying transmission lines from Shilong to Agra

PGCIL is laying transmission lines with 800kV transformers from Shillong to Agra for evacuation of 6,000 mw of hydropower per day. The transmission corridor, which will run 2,000 circuit km, is estimated to cost 1,200 crore. The project is scheduled for commissioning in 2014. Besides, the corporation also plans to set up nine transmission corridors at a cost of 58,000 crore by 2015-16.
