TOP CABLE COMPANIES IN INDIA

Top Cable 1

Wires and cables are channels of power and data which empowers today’s civilized societies and thus it is imperative for any country to become self-reliant in the production of ample and quality wires and cables. Indian wire and cable companies are increasingly aligning themselves to the global quality and technology benchmark to produce wires and cables satisfying both domestic and global customers.

The growth indicators in India are profuse amidst mega public and private investments. Some of which are the Govt.’s commitment to provide 24×7 affordable and quality power resulting into massive electrification and generation drive, USD 50 billion investment supported by the Govt.’s 18 billion in the transmission sector, the telecommunications market being the third largest and the fastest growing, etc. Automotive, telecommunication and construction industries, three most important customer segments, are growing appreciably with annual growth of 25 percent in past few years, indicating a manufacturing boon for the wire and cable industry. Besides, India is on path to become a truly knowledge-based digital economy with ambitious projects like BharatNet and Smart City.

The Government’s fund allocations in the two important schemes, viz. Deendayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUGJY) and Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS) has been enhanced from Rs. 4,500 Cr. to Rs. 8,500 Cr. which would give a boost in demand to the electrical equipment manufacturing industry. The power sector is said to be at a point of inflection, where sooner rather than later, the growth trajectory would be unlocked actualizing the targeted capacity addition of 88.5 GW set in the 12th Plan. Capacity addition from the new and renewable energy sources, viz., solar & wind is also on full thrust.

Amid all these positive growth pointers, it is expected that the industry, which has been growing at the rate of around 15 percent currently, will start growing at the CAGR of over 20 percent over the next 5 years. Wire & Cable India’s biennial survey of major operating manufacturing enterprises, which are India’s largest, most powerful wire and cable companies, is an attempt to present a glimpse of the growing landscape of the Indian wire cable Industry.
