Change of control at AEI Compounds

12 July, 2011

AEI Compounds announced that Saco Polymers Inc. of Wisconsin USA has agreed to acquire its whole of the share capital from TT electronics plc.

Saco Polymers, formerly known as Padanaplast USA Inc, is a manufacturer of moisture-crosslinkable polyethylene serving Water Pipe and Wire & Cable markets with high performance compounds. Saco Polymers also manufactures a number of formulations of flame retardants and zero halogen compounds for the Wire & Cable markets designed to fulfill the most stringent expectations.

AEI Compounds Limited was acquired by TT electronics plc in 1997 and in recent years has invested heavily in new capacity and the relocation of the facility to its current site in Sandwich, Kent, UK. Following a strategic review of the TT electronics group it was recognised that AEI Compounds would be better served by belonging to a parent which is focussed on similar markets within the global polymer compound supply market and which can support the future development plans of the business.

AEI Compounds Ltd will continue its current operations as a wholly owned subsidiary of Saco Polymers Inc. The entire senior leadership team of AEI Compounds will remain with the business and will continue to provide unparalleled service to its valued customers. Saco expects that the combi-nation of the respective product offerings and geographic strengths will greatly expand both businesses in the coming years.

The company is represented in India and SAARC countries through Bihani Group and will continue to serve in this position.
