Southeast Asia’s leading regional trade fairs for the synergistic wire and tube industries, which have long since built a reputation on the international level, will be staged during 17-19 September 2013 at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC), Bangkok, Thailand. Organised by Messe Düsseldorf Asia, over 300 companies will be exhibiting at both wire and Tube Southeast Asia during the three-day event. The two trade fairs will showcase innovations and trends in high-performing machinery, processing and automation in the wire, cable, tube and pipe industry in Southeast Asia.
Recognised as the industries’ much-awaited trade fairs for the region, wire and Tube Southeast Asia 2013 will outperform its successful edition in 2011 with higher profile exhibitors from big international companies, approximately 15% of whom are first-time exhibitors. Over 40% of international exhibitor participation is from Europe. There will also be an impressive representation from market leaders from around the region. Seven national pavilions and country groups from Austria, China, Germany, Italy, Singapore, Taiwan and the USA have secured participation in the trade fairs.
Southeast Asia: Gateway to a Single Market and Production Base in 2015
Southeast Asia remains resilient amidst persistent global economic uncertainty, projecting an average annual growth rate of 5.5% over the next five years to 2017. This signals that trade fairs continue to fulfill the industries’ needs as an international business conduit into the region. The region is increasingly becoming a manufacturing and industrial hub for many global companies seeking to locate and keep in touch with available business opportunities.
According to Global Industry Analysts, the global market for seamless pipes and tubes is projected to reach 113.8 million tons by 2018. In addition, the global market for spiral welded pipes and tubes is projected to reach 24.6 million tons by 2018, driven by economic recovery, increase in activity in the energy sector and growing pipeline construction projects. Industry reports indicate that the Asia Pacific region represents the largest market worldwide, driven primarily by increased use in transporting natural gas. Similarly, business opportunities in the wire and cable industries are estimated to contribute approximately 3% of the world’s production of wire and cable.
Against this dynamic backdrop, Mr Gernot Ringling, Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia comments: “wire and Tube Southeast Asia is taking place at a critical time for the wire, cable, tube and pipe industries both in the region and globally. Companies scanning the region for market opportunities to diversify products, markets and suppliers will find wire and Tube Southeast Asia the ideal platform for lucrative business exchange and networking opportunities.”
According to Mr Ringling, this year’s trade fairs will see a comprehensive display of products and services aimed particularly at enhancing productivity and operations, as well as cost-effective solutions. “In response to this emphasis, exhibitors will focus on innovation, from the latest processes, systems, services and products to meet supplier demands for productivity and efficiency gains. Trade visitors can also expect to see more machinery and equipment at this year’s trade fairs.”
Integrating Market Opportunities with Industry Growth
A series of technical seminars have been designed to bring wire Southeast Asia closer to the wire and cable industry providing unique insights into the trends shaping this sector. The first round of technical seminar will kick-start in Seoul, Korea, on 22 July followed by Jakarta on 24 July, ending off in Bangkok on 26 July.
The programme for this year’s technical seminars for wire and cable industries will see presentations focusing on the technological developments in the industry by Niehoff Group, Sikora AG, Reber Systematic GmbH + Co KG, EDER Engineering and Rosendahl Maschinen GmbH. The speakers will present the latest advancements in the fields of wire drawing, automotive wires, process filtration and measuring technology. Business strategies focused on innovation, production efficiency and productivity will be explored during the sessions.
These visits are designed to provide a targeted learning platform for approximately 500 manufacturers of wire & cable in these countries. Organised as a prelude to the trade fair, these technical seminars also form an initiative to provide insights into how organisations can prepare for the intensive competition with the development of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) in 2015.
The trade fair is supported by numerous prominent industry associations that include International Wire and Cable Exhibitors’ Association (IWCEA), International Wire and Machinery Association, Italian Wire Machinery Manufacturer’s Association (ACIMAF), Iron and Steel Institute of Thailand and many others. Thailand’s largest trade fair for the wire and cable industry is all about machinery and equipment, materials trends and accessories used for making all types of wire & cable and innovative solutions for the wire and cable sector. Trade visitors can expect to see a wide range of wire, cable, tube and pipe products for the building, electronic, power, and telecommunications sector as well as data wire & cable and other insulated wires and cables.
In addition, visitors will also be able to attend a series of seminars and training courses at wire and Tube Southeast Asia 2013 as well as other offerings, which have been organised to provide added value to the exhibition and maintain its leading position in the industry.
