As part of the collaboration, the companies plan to initially assess the feasibility of a 500,000-tonne-per-year of aluminium using aluminium smelter, with a broader vision to scale up to 1 million tonnes of aluminium and 2 million tonnes of alumina annually.
The project is expected to use renewable energy sources, such as wind and solar, and is supported by pumped hydro storage. The initiative comes in response to the rising global demand for eco-friendly aluminium, known for its light weight, durability, and recyclability, particularly in sectors like automotive, construction, and packaging.
