Bansal Wire Industries Limited, a part of Bansal Group and one of the largest stainless steel wire manufacturing companies in the country, made its foray into the specialty wires segment with the commencement of production at its specialty wire vertical in its Dadri plant.

The announcement was made by Mr. Pranav Bansal, MD and CEO of Bansal Wire, during the Q3 of FY-25. Mr. Bansal said, “This quarter marked a significant achievement for the company with the commencement of production at its specialty wire vertical in Dadri. The facility introduced three critical products: bead wire, hose wire and steel tyre cord, with bead wire and hose wire successfully launched during the period. The market potential for these products is substantial, with an estimated annual demand of 450,000 tonnes.

“To capitalize on this opportunity, Bansal Wire has established a state-of-the-art pilot project with a capacity of 50,000 tonnes. This initiative not only reinforces our commitment to innovation but also positions us to effectively cater to the growing needs of this dynamic market segment. We are committed to product quality and will soon be the only Indian company with an in-house R&D wing for new product development,” he added.

Mr. Ghanshyam Gujarati, CFO of Bansal Wire Industries, recently revealed to the media that the market size for steel cord in India was about 2-2.5 lakh tonnes. Bansal Wires have started with 20,000 tons as a pilot project. Currently, this product is being imported into India and Bansal Wire would be the first company in India to manufacture steel cord.

Claiming its Dadri plant to be India’s largest steel wire plant, the CFO said the plant has a commissioned capacity of about 2,20,000 MTPA. The company had earlier decided to increase this capacity to 3.5 lakh MTPA with an investment of about INR 550 crore. However, the plan has been revised and the production capacity would now be expanded to 4.2 lakh MTPA. This revision would mean an addition of about INR 70-80 crore to the original outlay of INR 550 crore, totalling to around INR 630 crore. Bansal Wire was hoping to complete this expansion within the first two quarters of FY26, he added.
