Taihan Cable & Solution, one of the leading providers of high-voltage power cables and equipment from Korea, has secured a high-voltage power grid project in the UK worth USD 68.17 million.
Aimed at replacing the aging power grid in the Suffolk and Essex regions with a 400kV high-voltage power grid, the project marked continuation of the company’s strategic partnership with Balfour Beatty.

As per the contract, Taihan Cable & Solution will supply all related materials for the project, including 400kV high-voltage cables and power equipment.
The order is part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for partnership in transmission and distribution business signed with Balfour Beatty in November 2023. It outlines plans for two companies to jointly participate in bids for transmission and distribution network projects worth more than USD 220 million in the UK by 2030.
Since the MoU, Taihan Cable & Solution has contracted a total of three projects with Balfour Beatty, maintaining a close and productive partnership.

The latest project follows the company’s previous success in securing a 110 billion won 420kV high-voltage power grid project in Sweden in December 2022 and an additional 40 billion won 400kV high-voltage power grid project in the UK.
